Ahmedabad, 14 November 2025:
On the final day of the lecture series organized by Bharatiya Vichar Manch to mark the centenary year of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Shri Alok Kumar Ji delivered an insightful address on the topic “Extensive Outreach and the Participation of Noble Forces” as envisioned by the fifth Sarsanghchalak, Pujya Shri Sudarshan Ji, and the present Sarsanghchalak, Pujya Dr. Mohan Bhagwat Ji.
Shri Alok Kumar Ji described the fifth Sarsanghchalak of RSS, Pujya Shri Kuppahalli Sitaramaiah Sudarshan Ji—popularly known as Sudarshan Ji—as a distinguished personality whose ideological and organizational contributions laid strong foundations for the Sangh’s development. He further noted that Sudarshan Ji, with his academic background in science and engineering, chose the life of a ‘pracharak’ at a young age and dedicated his intellect and capabilities to national service.

In the year 2000, he was appointed the fifth Sarsanghchalak of RSS. During his tenure, the organization initiated deep academic and social dialogues on important subjects such as economic policy, technology, national security, and contemporary global challenges.
Sudarshan Ji strongly advocated the principles of self-reliance, Swadeshi thinking, and cultural awakening. His thoughts on national reconstruction and indigenous approaches continue to inspire generations even after his demise on 15 September 2012. Shri Alok Ji emphasized that Sudarshan Ji’s ideas remain a guiding force in various fields of national life.

Shri Alok Ji also explained the leadership style and tenure of the present and sixth Sarsanghchalak, Shri Mohanrao Bhagwat Ji. He noted that after completing his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Veterinary Science from Nagpur, Dr. Bhagwat became an active worker during the 1975 Emergency and fully devoted himself as a pracharak in 1977. Having served in various responsibilities, he assumed the role of Sarsanghchalak in 2009.
Under Dr. Bhagwat Ji’s leadership, the organization has strengthened its reach and effectiveness through dialogue, service, and national unity, adapting to new societal situations. His efforts have expanded the Sangh’s work in areas such as social harmony, rural development, self-reliance, and national awareness.
According to Shri Alok Ji, the life of Dr. Bhagwat Ji serves as an important study in maintaining a balance between “tradition and modernity” and fostering “social harmony and organizational innovation.”
The event was graced by the presence of Education Minister Dr. Pradyumna Vaja, former ministers Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja and Shri Brijeshbhai Merja, Yuvraj Sahib of Bhavnagar Shri Jayvirrajsinh Gohil, motivational speaker Shri Sanjaybhai Rawal, Kothari Swami Shri Vivek Sagar Swamiji (Salangpur Dham), and other revered saints.
Senior thinkers of the Sangh, representatives of Prajna Pravah and Bharatiya Vichar Manch, as well as leading personalities from academic, cultural, and social fields, were also present on this occasion.
A special multimedia show depicting “100 Years of RSS” was presented, showcasing inspiring audio-visual content on the role of RSS in the freedom movement and its contribution to national life. A special documentary illustrating the journey of RSS since its inception, the evolution of its thoughts, and its positive global impact was screened and appreciated by the audience. The documentary vividly portrayed the Sangh’s subtle yet significant role in nation-building.
Additionally, 3D models of important monuments associated with the RSS centenary journey—such as Dr. Hedgewar’s House, Mohitewada, Smriti Mandir, Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Ram Mandir, and Bharat Mata—were displayed. Archival documents illustrating the harmonious interactions between RSS and great national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar, and Kanhaiyalal Munshi were also exhibited.
Important documents related to the contribution of RSS in the freedom struggle, its organizational structure, major service activities, and various dimensions of its national work were made available for public viewing.
The primary objective of the lecture series organized by Bharatiya Vichar Manch is to acquaint intellectuals, thinkers, influencers, and prominent citizens with the true nature of RSS, its tradition of nation-centric thought, and its continuous efforts in social welfare.
A special attraction of the program is the exclusive sales counter for the commemorative coin “100 Years of RSS”, facilitated by the Mumbai Mint, Government of India—adding a historic dimension to the event. Bharatiya Vichar Manch warmly invites coin collectors and enthusiasts to visit.
On this occasion, Shri Ishan Joshi, General Secretary of Bharatiya Vichar Manch, stated:
“The centenary year of RSS is not merely a celebration for an organization but an awakening for the entire nation. Through this program, we aim to inspire renewed enthusiasm and intellectual strength in national life by understanding the value-driven journey of the RSS.”
For the past 34 years, Bharatiya Vichar Manch has been organizing various programs that address impactful national and societal issues, with participation from renowned thinkers and distinguished personalities throughout the year.
