Ahmedabad: As Valentines day approaches, A.R. Rahman’s The Wonderment Tour is expected to draw large audiences at the Jawaharlal Nehru Outdoor Stadium in Chennai on February 14. While Rahman’s return to the city after a long gap is a moment fans have been waiting for, the Chennai edition of the tour will also showcase the formidable lineup of singers who will join him on stage, promising a concert rich in musical diversity and star power.

The evening will see some of the most recognisable and versatile voices in contemporary Indian music performing alongside Rahman. Chinmayi Sripada, whose collaborations with the composer have produced some of Tamil cinema’s most loved songs, is set to be one of the highlights of the night. Joining her is A.R. Ameen, who has steadily carved a space for himself as a performer with an international outlook and youthful energy.

The lineup also features Nisa Shetty and Nitesh Aher, both known for their dynamic stage presence, along with Amrutha Suresh, whose powerful vocals have resonated across film and independent music. Nakul Abhyankar and Adithya RK bring a contemporary edge to the ensemble, while Rakshita Suresh and Singer Srinivasa add depth with their strong grounding in both classical and modern styles. Adding a distinct flavour to the evening is singer Adhitya RK, whose collaborations with Rahman have bridged film music and global hip-hop influences. The evening is also set to feature some surprises, exciting audiences even more.

Together, this collective of heavyweight performers is expected to revisit iconic compositions while also reimagining them in new, live arrangements. The focus on multiple lead vocalists reflects A.R. Rahman’s long-standing approach to music-making, where diverse voices play a central role in shaping his sound.

Organised by Noise and Grains in association with Jo Entertainment and Fairgame Entertainment, the Chennai leg of The Wonderment Tour also comes with a thoughtful logistical touch. In a bid to encourage sustainable and hassle-free travel, organisers will be providing free Metro Rail passes to all ticket holders, making access to the venue smoother for the thousands expected to attend.

As The Wonderment Tour arrives in Chennai, it promises not just a reunion with A.R. Rahman, but a rare opportunity to witness an exceptional ensemble of singers come together on one stage. Tickets are fast selling on the District by Zomato.
