Ahmedabad: Shivam Charitable Trust recently launched its innovative hybrid model “Defeat Diabetese” at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Hall in Vastral, Ahmedabad. This model aims to offer a complete and accessible solution for diabetes patients on a single platform. The launch event also featured an insightful expert talk session.

“Defeat Diabetese” is a pioneering initiative by Shivam Charitable Trust to address the widespread issue of diabetes and related complications, prevalent in households across the nation. The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including former Cabinet Minister Shri Purnesh Modi, Kargil war hero Colonel Lalit Ray (Veerchankra), Dr. Nilesh Desai Director (SAC, ISRO), IAS Alok Pandey, Director of Ahmedabad Management Association Shri Unmesh Dixit, Param Pujya Shriji Swami (Hatijan Swaminarayan Temple), Dr. Braj Shukla (Senior Scientist, ISRO), and Binaisha Khambatta (Trustee, Areez Khambatta Benevolent Trust and Rasna Foundation), among others. The founder of Shivam Charitable Trust, Shri Prakash Kurmi, along with the dignitaries, engaged in discussions on the “Defeat Diabetese” mission.

Trustees of Shivam Charitable Trust – Smt. Aarti Kurmi, Smt. Sonia Khanna, Shri Pareshbhai Pathak, Shri Bansibhai Khatana, and Shri Shaileshbhai Prajapati – joined over 800 attendees from various walks of life, including prominent individuals and partners from the social service sector.

Founder Shri Prakash Kurmi stated, “Diabetes has become a household concern. With a sincere intention to serve society, we have organized this special seminar and launched the ‘Defeat Diabetes’ model. This includes regular follow-ups, 30% discount on home-delivered medicines, home-based lab tests, personalized diet and exercise plans, and more. We have also planned to provide these services free of cost to BSF and other security forces. For the past 15 years, our organization has been visiting the borders to support BSF personnel through health initiatives and various service-oriented activities. We extend our gratitude to the renowned doctors, service organizations, and community leaders associated with this medical mission.”

Colonel Lalit Ray expressed his best wishes for the success of the “Defeat Diabetese” initiative, stating that it provides a practical and lasting solution to the diabetes crisis across the country. The audience was also presented with an inspiring audiovisual show highlighting Colonel Rai’s leadership during the Kargil War and the heroic actions of the Gorkha Battalion under his command during Operation Khalubar – an operation that turned seemingly impossible odds into a courageous victory.

Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Shri Purnesh Modi extended his heartfelt wishes for the success of the mission and appreciated the “Defeat Diabetese” campaign for its efforts to control the rising diabetes epidemic in the country.
